Integrated Systems
What is an Integrated System?
Integrated systems function with a defined objective in mind. Integration occurs when one system collaborates seamlessly with another to execute a task automatically and flawlessly. This eliminates the potential for human error and ensures efficient operation.
Common integrations include:
Flashing your card to gain entry to a building, which also disarms the security system.
Someone opens a door, and the camera shot of that door flashes up on a monitor.
Pressing a panic button, and the building locks down.
More sophisticated integrations are when software engineers write application interfaces or APIs between two platforms.
Card access populates time and attendance for employee timekeeping software.
Access control could pull associated video from history reports.
